STUDENTI MILL-KULLEĠĠ DE LA SALLE FI ĦDAN IL-GRUPP EKOSKOLA JŻURU LIS-SINDKU TAL-BIRGU FIL-BERĠA TA’ FRANZA

 
Fid-19 ta’ Mejju, 2011, erbat itfal mill-kumitat ta’ tnax-il membru tal-grupp Ekoskola fi ħdan il-Kulleġġ De La Salle fil-Birgu, żaru lis-Sindku, s-Sur John Boxall, fuq żjara fil-Berġa ta’ Franza.  Il-membri tal-kumitat preżenti kienu, Mark Paul, David, Craig u Nathaniel.
 
Is-Sindku, s-Sur John Boxall, laqa’ lit-tfal fil-Berġa ta’ Franza u nforma lit-tfal li bħalissa qed isiru diversi xogħlijiet f’din il-binja, sabiex din tkun is-sede uffiċjali tal-Kunsill Lokali tal-Birgu.  Is-Sindku mbagħad ta mawra żgħira tal-Berġa lil dan il-grupp.
 
Wara, l-Assistent Segretarju ta’ dan il-kumitat, Nathaniel, introduċa lill-membri tal-Ekoskola lis-Sindku, s-Sur John Boxall, u ta spjegazzjoni tax-xogħol ta’ dan il-kumitat u x-xogħol li qiegħed isir għal ġieh l-ambjent.
 
Il-President, Mark Paul, spjega fuq fuq l-attivitajiet li jiġu organizzati minn dan il-kumitat, fosthom l-attivita’ “Ekoskola Milied” li ġiet organizzata fi żmien il-Milied, kif ukoll l-attivta’ “White Bin Challange”.
 
Craig, il-PRO ta’ dan il-kumitat, tah spjegazzjoni ta' dan il-Mascot “Switcherinu”, li dawn iż-żgħażagħ ħolqu biex jirrapreżenta l-“Energy-Saving Campaign”. It-tfal ippreżentaw wieħed mill-mascot tagħhom lis-Sindku u talbu sabiex jitqiegħed fil-Kunsill, biex kull min iżur din il-binja jsir jaf dwar ix-xogħol li qiegħed isir minn dan il-kumitat, kif ukoll kif wieħed jista’ jiffranka l-elettriku.
 
Fl-aħħar, David, PRO ieħor, ippreżenta lis-Sindku t-shirt iswed bl-‘eco-code’ fejn it-tfal taw spjegazzjoni li dan l-‘eco-code’ huwa l-messaġġ relatat mal-ambjent ta’ din l-iskola – De La Salle.
 
Is-Sindku, s-Sur John Boxall, rringrazzja lil dawn it-tfal talli tawh spjegazzjoni ta’ din l-inizjattiva li qegħdin jieħdu u kien onorat li ltaqgħu miegħu. Is-Sur John Boxall, inkoraġġixxa lil dawn it-tfal u jispera li ħaddieħor jimxi fuq l-eżempju ta’ dawn it-tfal.
 
 

 

 

MEMBERS OF THE GROUP EKOSKOLA VISIT THE MAYOR OF BIRGU AT THE AUBERGE DE FRANCE

 
 
 
On the 19th May, 2011, four of the twelve committee members of the EkoSkola group of the De La Salle College, Birgu, visited the Mayor of Birgu, Mr. John Boxall at the Auberge de France. The committee members present were Mark Paul, David, Craig and Nathaniel.
 
The Mayor, Mr. John Boxall, greeted the children at the Auberge de France, and informed them, that works are currently being made, so as to transform this Auberge in the new administration office of the Local Council. The Mayor then gave a small tour of the Auberge.
 
Then the committee assistant secretary, Nathaniel, introduced the Ekoskola members to the Mayor and informed him about the committee’s work and what they are doing for a better environment.
 
The president, Mark Paul, then explained the event organised by this group “EkoSkola Christmas” event that is organised during the Christmas session, together with the “White Bin Challenge”.
 
The committee’s PRO, Craig, continued to explain about the “Switcherinu” mascot which these youngsters invented to represent their Energy-saving campaign. The children gave one of their mascots to the Mayor and asked the Local Council to put it up in their premises, so as to inform everyone about their work and how they can save electricity as well.
 
Finally, David, the committee’s other PRO, presented the Mayor with a black t-shirt with their eco-code painted on it and the children explained that the eco-code is the environment related message of their Lasallian school – De La Salle.
 
The Mayor, Mr John Boxall, thanked the children for informing him about the initiative that they are undertaken and he was thoroughly honoured to meet them.  Mr John Boxall encouraged the children and hoped that others will follow their example.
