Photographic Exhibition organised by the Malta Photographic Society




On Friday 21st September 2007, the Birgu Local Council hosted for the second time the Malta Photographic Society in Birgu for the organisation of their photographic activity.

Around 95 photographers, members in the Malta Photographic Society took part in this activity which was held in various historical parts in Vittoriosa between 9 o'clock and 3:30 in the afternoon.

The photographers taking part in this activity had the chance to take various photos in various historical places found in Vittoriosa, including the Couvre POrte area, the Inquisitor's Palace, St. Lawrence Church and its surrounding area and the Collachio area, the oldest part of this historical city.

For this photographic activity, re-enactors wearing costumes dating of the order of St. John period together with models wearing modern clothing took part to create a contrast between the historic element against the modern element.

At the end of the activity, in his short speech, the President of this society, Mr. Carmel Psaila, thanked all those who participated in the event, models, re-enactors alike, as well as the Birgu Local Council for all the help given throughout the activity that for another time was of a great success.
