LEANNE ATTARD - MAĦTURA L-EWWEL AMBAXXATRIĊI TAŻ-ŻGĦAŻAGĦ TAL-BIRGU - BELT TWELIDA
 
Is-Sinjorina Leanne Attard kienet waħda minn fost żewġ żgħażagħ li wrew interess u tefgħu n-nomina tagħhom biex ikunu l-ewwel Ambaxxatur/Ambaxxatriċi Żgħażugħ/a tal-Belt tal-Birgu għal perjodu ta’ sentejn.

Leanne ġiet innominata biex tkun l-ewwel Ambaxxatriċi taz-Żgħażagħ fil-Kunsill Lokali tal-Birgu mis-Sindku, s-Sur John Boxall u kienet sekondata u approvata unaniment fil-laqgħa tal-Kunsill li saret nħar il-Ħamis, 14 ta’ Novembru, 2013.
Leanne Attard twieldet fi tlieta u għoxrin ta’ Ottubru 1997, bint Eucharist u Marlene Attard nee Schembri, it-tnejn mill-Birgu. Leanne hija t-tieni wild minn erbgħa aħwa, tlett ibniet u tifel kbir fost l-aħwa .
Fl-eta’ teneratagħha Leanne kienet tattendi l-iskola Primarja Santu Rokku fil-Birgu, imma llum hija tattendi Kullegg Santa Margerita, skola sekondarja tal-bniet fiż-Żejtun.
Fil-ħin liberu tagħha hija tilgħab il-futbol mal-Vittoriosa Stars Nursery fit-tim tal-bniet. Hija wkoll tieħu sehem fid-drammi li jtellgħu s-sezzjoni Żgħażagħ Palmizi u tgħin flimkien mal-ġenituri tagħha fl-organizzazzjoni ta’ l-attività kbira li l-Kunsill Lokali tal-Birgu jorganizza kull sena – dik tal-Birgufest. It-tim tal-futbol favorit tagħha huwa dak taljan, it-tim tal-A.C. Milan.
Il-ħsieb ewlieni tagħha li tkun L-Ambaxxatrici taż-żgħażagħ fil-Kunsill Lokali tal- Birgu huwa li tagħmel l-għalmu tagħha billi tressaq u tqajjem punti relatati mas-settur taż-żgħażagħ sabiex jiġu mplementati mill-Kunsill Lokali tal-Birgu.
Is-Sindku, l-Viċi Sindku u l-Kunsilliera kollha tal-Kunsill Lokali tal-Birgu jifirħu lis-Sinjorina Leanne Attard ta’ din il-ħatra u jawgurawlha kull suċċess fil-ħidma tagħha u b’risq iż-żgħażagħ ta’ din il-Belt rebbieħa u glorjuża bl-istorja tagħha.
L-Ambaxxatriċi, s-Sinjorina Leanne Attard tiffirma l-aċċettazzjoni tal-kariga ta’ Ambaxxatriċi lokali taż-Żgħażagħ nhar l-Erbgħa, 20 ta’ Novembru 2013 fis-sala ta’ l-Arazzi fil-Palazz Presidenzjali fil-preżenza tas-Segratarju Parliamentari, l-Oneveroli Dr. Hose Herrera u l-Kunsillier, is-Sur Anton Gellel.

LEANNE ATTARD  - THE FIRST YOUTH AMBASSADOR OF BIRGU - HER NATIVE CITY
 
Ms Leanne Attard was one of the two youngsters that showed their interest and posted their nominations for becoming the first Youth Ambassador of the city of Birgu, for a period of two years.

Leanne was then nominated for the role of Youth Ambassador of Birgu by the Mayor, Mr John Boxall and was later encouraged and unanimously approved during the Council’s meeting held on the 14th November, 2013.
Leanne was born on the 23th of October 1997, daughter of Eucharist and Marlene Attard nee Schembri; both parents from Birgu. She is the second among four siblings, three sisters and an older brother.
In her young age, Leanne attended Saint Roque School in Birgu and today, she is a student at the Saint Margaret College Secondary School in Zejtun.

 

In her free time, Leanne plays football for the Vittoriosa Stars Nursery women’s team. She also participates regularly in dramas organized by the Sezzjoni Żgħażagħ Palmiżi and, together with her parents, she also helps in the organisation of the Birgufest - an annual activity organized by the Birgu Local Council. Her favourite football team is that of A.C. Milan in Italy.

Her main role is to be the Youth Ambassador in the Birgu Local Council and to do her best in order to bring forward thoughts and ideas related with the youth sector, so that they can be discussed and implemented by the Birgu Local Council.
The Mayor, the Vice-Mayor and all the Councilors of the Birgu Local Council would like to congratulate Ms Leanne Attard for this appointment and they wish her every success in her duty on behalf of all the youths of the victorious city of Birgu.
