Tours start off from Couvre Porte exactly from Advance Gate. 18:00 – 19:00 Birgu through the agesThis walk will take a general view of the history of Birgu by walking through the streets, and looking at buildings representing the different periods. During this walk, we will have the chance to listen to historical details highlighting the importance of Birgu, and listen to stories about personalities and events connected with particular parts. 19:15 – 20:15 Birgu during the Great Siege 1565 Birgu was at the centre of the struggle during the summer of 1565. A number of fights occurred on the bastions of fortifications around Birgu. This will be a walk during which one would have the chance to learn about events, battles and heroes centred around the defence of Birgu and the defeat of the Ottoman army 20:30 – 21:30 British Heritage in Birgu With the arrival of the British in Malta, Birgu became the main naval centre for the British Navy. Museums
*Fort St. Angelo, The Maritime Museum as well as The Inquisitor’s Palace which also includes the National Museum of Ethnography, will be open till midnight on both nights with a reduced entrance of € 2.
*During the BirguFest festival, Malta at War Museum will extend its regular opening hours. N.B. – * all places of historical and cultural interest, Museums and exhibitions will be open to the public from 9am till late in the evening. Exhibitions during BirguFest 2016
One of the oldest houses in Birgu, which has unique Siculo-Norman features, will be open to the public for free.

Candle Exhibition and New Fragrance Launch by Stephen Cordina Food Stalls The Birgufest organizers have allowed traditional Maltese food and drinks stalls to be set up at Birgu’s Main Square, in St. John’s Tower Street and Xatt ir-Rizq. Parking
Water Taxi The Local Council has reached an agreement with the water taxi (dghajsa) owners to provide a service from the Old Customs House in Valletta at a charge of two Euro (€2) per person and from Senglea to Birgu at one Euro (€1) per person. It was to become the headquarters of the Order of the Knights of St John, the headquarters of its Fleet, and the residence of the Grand Master. Birgu was to be at the centre of activities during the Great Siege and it was to remain an important part of the administration of the Order till the very end of their stay in Malta.
