‘Signs in the city’ is one of the EU projects that the Birgu Local Council is participating in. this project is to promote foreign languages through city signs. These include signs in the streets of the city, historical heritage, architecture artistic features, graffiti, sports, leisure, traffic, transport, maps, events, shops and restaurants etc…. 

New sites for recycable bring in sites around Vittoriosa

 

The Birgu Local Council has teamed up with GreenPak to revise the system of the collection of recycable domestic refuse.

On Thursday 17th January, 2008, a group from the company Allergan Pharmacy, brought to Malta by World Events of Leeds, U.K.

The Birgu Local Council, with the help of the Malta Tourism Authority, has just installed new ornamental railing at the Poste of France, in the area of Couvre Porte. The Council was receiving various complaints regarding how dangerous this area was, when one would go up there to enjoy the panorama.


The Birgu Local Council in collaboration with the Environmental Landscape Consortium helped to clean and re-embelish yet another abandoned area in Vittoriosa, the area found in St. Edward Street, corner with Triq Dawret l-Isptar.
